Hey hey everyone,

Spending a few moments on MLMSocial over these last few days, I've started noticing something:

A lot of people post opportunity piches on their blogs or in their articles.

My suggestion would be, to leave that to the forums, where there are special spaces for that.

Personally I like to read interesting articles and blog, full of valuable information that can help my

MLM get forward.

So, what I would like to here from you is:

Have you noticed the same thing as I have and

maybe more importantly, are you willing to help to improve that situation?

What other sugestions do you have to improve MLMSocial?

All the best,

Rutger.

Hi Rutger,

Actually, opportunity promotion is not tolerated in Articles. I'm not sure where you're seeing this. Please let me know.

Posting ads in Forums outside of Advertise Your Business is prohibited, and so is spamming Groups, Comments, Likes, etc.

As far as promoting and advertising in Blogs, this is perfectly acceptable... as is advertising in Advertise Your Business, your Status, your own profile page using Comments, and many other places. This is, after all, a site for like-minded professionals in the MLM industry, and we want everyone to feel like they have a place to make themselves heard.

If you have any questions on what is and what is not allowed, don't hesitate to contact me!

Hi Laura, Thank you so much for your comment.
As I am still very new to this site and haven't taken the time yet to study what is, and what is not allowed, I appreciated it a lot that you inform me.

I must also tell you that I seem to have (over-) generalized a bit, saying that people pitch their opportunities in their articles? I scanned some and couldn't find that either. So my apologies for that.

The goal of my questions were there more to try to get people to think about how they market themselves. (Supposing they do, or want to do that.)
Of course people should be able to write on their blog (with in certain moral limits) what they want, and if they write about their opportunity, that is ok by me. I only wonder if it is not a waste of time and energy?

As far as I've seen, the successful MLM entrepreneurs never talk about their opportunity, neither on their blog, nor anywhere else.

What I do see them do, is post high value information on internet, and "old school" marketing techniques and on personal development, mindset, etc.

I came to the idea to write about it, because I think only few people actually read other people's work. Most blogs on the first page, have 0 to 5 views over the period of one 24 hours and no comments.
This, I presume, is either due to poor content of the blogs (or articles for that matter) or to very few people reading the publications.

I am hoping that with this conversation, both can be improved.

So really, I have nothing against advertising, actually I'm all for it. I just wonder whether it is of much use in areas like blogs.

As to questions on what is and what is not allowed, I will contact to with a private massage if I have any questions :-)

Thanks again Laura, for the reply to my post.
All the best,

Rutger.

Hi Rutger,

I'm very happy to hear this all makes sense.

I agree with you that blatant opportunity promotion, while allowed, might not be the most effective way (ironically) to promote one's opportunity. This very issue is why MLMSocial exists! Ours is a community designed to HELP marketers better promote their businesses and broaden their networks.

I'd love to hear more from you. Perhaps, in addition to the work you've gotten published in our Articles section, you can go into more detail in the Blogs section? I think it would be really helpful for others to read your thoughts, and you will increase your visibility at the same time!

I'm looking forward to reading more from you, Rutger.
