Know, Like And Trust Listbuilding

There was a time when an Internet marketer could easily make sales with just an affiliate link.

Those days are gone!

Marketers must now build their own list of prospects to connect to and eventually convert into buyers of their products/services.

All successful Internet marketers have listbuilding strategies that they rely on to build, grow and maintain their customer/client base. 

One of the tools that these marketers use is the hardworking autoresponder which is comparable to an employee or associate who works in your business 24/7.

Autoresponders can be free or fee-based depending on your needs and budget.

So what is an autoresponder and how does it help you build your list?

An autoresponder is a program that responds automatically with pre-made email messages when someone requests those messages by adding their contact details to it. It helps build your list because you have now captured this persons contact details and can now send them follow messages, until or unless they unsubscribe.

Which brings me to 4 points you must observe when listbuilding:

  1. The first message in your autoresponder should be nothing more than a welcome and thank you to your prospect
  2. The second message should provide free useful tips, advice, etc. pertaining to your business, but NOT a sales pitch
  3. In your third and subsequent messages, you can now begin to recommend your products and services, because hopefully by this time you have created the know like and trust factor between you and your prospect.
  4. You must allow your prospect to opt out if they wish to do. Provide an easy and accessible link for this option

Free information is still the number one reason that people come online, so, if you can connect with your lead or prospect and supply them with this information they will most likely stay on your list.

Remember, the money may be in the list, but the fortune is in the follow up!
