“The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfilment.” Earl Nightingale
What if you could wave a magic wand and have what you want tomorrow? Would you appreciate it? Would it stay that way?
The answer is probably no, because we have a “software program” in our brains that keeps us where we are. If we are poor, we stay poor. If we are sick, we stay sick. It takes a decision to change and a commitment to stick to whatever you need to do to change.
That is why, when someone wins the lotto, he or she is rich for a while, but after a while they are right back where they started. That is why most people make New Year’s resolutions, but then can’t stick to it.
So then, it takes courage to set a goal and stick to it. You need a powerful why: Why reach that goal? What would it take to get there?
You need to write your goal down, as well as your reason to get there. You need to have it pinned up everywhere so you can keep it in your vision always.
You need to visualise the goal, imagine what it would feel like when you’ve attained it, and give your full attention to the attaining of it.
This is how to motivate yourself. You can also do affirmations, write the goals and your “whys” down daily. Look into getting either hypnosis or do self-hypnosis (auto-suggestion). Do anything it takes to have your goal in your mind all the time.
This is how to attain happiness, for nothing gives one more satisfaction than reaching a goal.
