You don't have to buy from anyone. You don't have to work at any particular job. You don't have to participate in any given relationship.

You can choose.

You steer the course you choose in the direction of where you want to be today, tomorrow, or in a distant time to come.

You hold the tiller.

You can decide to alter the course of your life at any time.  No one can ever take that away from you. You can decide what you want and go after it.

It's always your next move.

The place to begin to improve the world is in your own heart, head and hands.

To get along with others, love them without forcing your love upon them.

Imposing your beliefs on people will not bring you peace.

Have concern for others, respect their rights and freedoms, and let them be themselves.  Do this and you will enjoy peace.

Having consideration for others is the basis of a good life.  Most people are not against you, they are merely for themselves.  Let differing ideas clash, but not those of the heart.

Peace comes to you when you live and act in a spirit of love.

Personal growth is the process of responding positively to change.  It involves risk as you step from the known to the unknown.

All your growth will depend on your activity. Your strength and growth will come only through continuous effort and struggle.  There will be no development without effort.

Trouble is the common denominator of living. It is the great equalizer of life. Your trials, your sorrows and your grief's will develop you.

When good or bad fortune comes your way, you must give it meaning and transform it into something of value.

What happens to you is not as important as your reaction to what is happening.

Here are seven goal-setting questions for you to ask and answer over and over again. I suggest that you take a pad of paper and write out your responses.

Question Number One:
What are your five most important values in life?
This question is intended to help you clarify what is really important to you, and by extension, what is less important, or unimportant. Once you have identified the five most important values in life for you, organize them in order of priority, from number one, the most important, through number five.

Question Number Two:
What are your three most important goals in life, right now?
This is called the "quick list" method. When you only have thirty seconds to write down your three most important goals, your subconscious mind sorts out your many goals quickly. Your top three will just pop into your conscious mind. With only thirty seconds, you will be as accurate as if you had thirty minutes.

Question Number Three:
What would you do, how would you spend your time, if you learned today that you only had six months to live?
This is another value questions to help you clarify what is really important to you. When your time is limited, even if only in your imagination, you become aware of who and what you really care about.

Question Number Four:
What would you do if you won a million dollars cash, tax free, in the lottery tomorrow?

How would you change your life? What would you buy? What would you start doing, or stop doing? This is really a question to help you decide what you'd do if you had all the time and money you need, and if you had virtually no fear of failure at all.

Question Number Five:
What have you always wanted to do, but been afraid to attempt?
This question helps you see more clearly where your fears could be blocking you from doing what you really want to do.

Question Number Six:
What do you most enjoy doing? What gives you your greatest feeling of self-esteem and personal satisfaction?
This is another values question that may indicate where you should explore to find your "heart's desire." You will always be most happy doing what you most love to do, and what you most love to do is invariably the activity that makes you feel the most alive and fulfilled. The most successful men and women in America are invariably doing what they really enjoy, most of the time.

Question Number Seven:
What one great thing would you dare to dream if you knew you would not fail?
Imagine that a genie appears and grants you one wish. The genie guarantees that you will be absolutely, completely successful in any one thing that you attempt to do, big or small, short or long-term. If you were absolutely guaranteed success in any one thing, what one exciting goal would you set for yourself?

Action Exercise
Study the pad of paper that you used to answer these questions. This paper represents your future goals. Look at what you wrote every day and shape your life the way you see it on that paper.

Your success will be determined on the drawing board. All you need is a plan, a road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.

Somewhere there is a map of how it can be done, for at all times, it's better to have a method.

Planning will bring your future into the present so you can do something about it now. Find a good system and it will shorten the road to your goal.

Divide your movements into easy to do sections. If you falter or fail, divide your movements again.

You can't get lost on a straight road.

The courage to begin separates dreamers from achievers.

Your difficulty and the difficulty of everyone who ever desires to achieve anything worthwhile comes in the movement.

Don't always be intending to live a new life but never find a time to begin living it.

Most people fail because they never get started.  They don't go they don't overcome inertia, they don't begin.

Begin to free yourself at once by doing all that is possible with the means you have.

As you proceed in this spirit, the way will open for you to do more.  The worst you can do is not to try.

Whatever you want in life, you must give up something to get it.  The greater the value, the greater the sacrifice required of you.  Everything has a price.

There's a price to pay if you want to make things better, and a price to pay for just leaving things as they are.

Nothing worthwhile ever comes easily.  Work, continuous work and hard work, is the only way to accomplish results that last.  Use your imagination more than your memory to achieve success.

There is no success at bargain basement prices.  The highway to success is a toll road.

Everyone who got where they are had to begin where they were. Your opportunity for success is right in front of you.

To attain success or to reach your goal, don't worry about having all the answers in advance. You just need to have a clear idea of your goal and move toward it.

Don't procrastinate when faced with a difficult problem. Break your problems into parts and handle one part at a time.

Develop a tendency toward action. You can make something happen today. Break your big plan for success into small steps and take the first step right away.

Success starts with a first step

Taking a risk is often your first necessary step toward success.  If you don't take some risks, you won't get the chance to succeed.  While you are trying, you are winning.

The law of averages is on your side. The more you try, the greater your chance of succeeding.

Never get discouraged. Every wrong attempt is another step forward. People that make no mistakes usually don't make anything.

Make up your mind not merely to overcome a thousand obstacles, but to win in spite of a thousand defeats.

Your mistakes are stepping stones to success and your installment payments to victory.

You can't be a winner and be afraid to lose.

Without goals there is no is no achievement.

A set definitive objective must be established if you are to accomplish anything in a big way.

The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this.   Decide what you want.  The world will turn aside and let you pass if you know where you are going.

Goals give you a starting place and a destination. Determine what you want.  Decide on your major objections, targets, and destination.

You can plant your own dream, with a goal.

There is no shortage of opportunity. Everyday you're presented with countless opportunities to be, or do whatever you desire.

Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity. Don't miss out on an opportunity because you're not prepared.

Your preparation is absolutely essential. To achieve success, you must have self discipline. You must increase your knowledge and develop your skills.

You're always at the right place at the right time when you're prepared.

You need a plan to find success.

Wanting success isn't sufficient enough to get it. You've got to ask yourself, "What are you going to do to get the things you want."

Your problem is to bridge the gap which exists between where you are now and the goal you intend to reach.

You cannot fail with a definite step by step plan, because each step you take will carry you along to the next step, like a track.  All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.

You can not get lost on a straight road.

If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and yourself.

Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, your ideal of what you long to attain, the ideal of health, efficiency, fun and success.

You can lift yourself by your thoughts.  Your vision will help you climb mountains.

High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

You'll become as small as your controlling desire, or as great as your dominant aspiration. The courage to follow your dreams is your first step toward destiny.

When you cease to dream, you cease to live.

Your dreams will come true if you have the desire to pursue them.  You must believe in yourself.

Know in your heart that you can do the job that you set out to do.  You are never given a wish without also given the power to make it come true.

The achievement of your goal is assured the moment you commit yourself to it.

Everything is possible if you believe it's possible.  It's your mind that sets your limits.  What you envision you can do, you can do.

Start thinking of yourself as a success and success will follow.  You can because you think you can.

Success is a state of mind, you have the power if you have the desire.

A life without purpose is like a ship without a rudder. Goals are dreams that are written down.

The purpose of a goal is to focus your attention. Your mind will reach toward achievement only when it has a goal.

There is no achievement without goals.

Establish a goal worth working for. Your goal will keep you going in tough times.

Always have something ahead of you. Continuously visualize your next step. Keep moving after you achieve your goal and set another. Momentum is maintained by always having something to look forward to. Constantly give yourself something to work for.

Do what you can do well, and do well whatever you can do and you'll achieve any goal that you set for yourself.

You can plant your dream with a goal.

The following are points noted by Richard Kall.  They encompass how and why he was so successful and what he did to become a mega millionaire:

  • Write down your goals, commit them to memory, read them twice a day (minimally).  Say then out loud with enthusiasm and conviction!
  • Include a time limit for your goals – be very specific!
    • The only books he has read are Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.  He reads out of Think and Grow Rich every day and has read that book hundreds and hundreds of times.
    • Visualize those things (goals) happening to you.
    • It is okay to fantasize!
    • Write your goals down – what are you willing to do to accomplish them?
    • Determine your “why” (example:  he had a huge need to be with his family because of his wife having cancer)
    • How much are you willing to do each day and week to accomplish your goals?
    • Plan your next day the night before – whether you’re going to do walking or talking, etc.
    • Take massive action on whatever you are doing
    • Give all your action and efforts 150%.
    • Do NOT WASTE TIME with the wrong people!
    • Find the right people – a person has to be in the right place at the right time to take action
    • Have the mindset to say “next” if someone is not interested.
    • Treat this like BIG business (because it is!)
    • Treat people you bring on board as if they’re family
